Critical Time Intervention (CTI)

Critical Time Intervention (CTI) is a time-limited evidence-based practice that mobilizes support for society’s most vulnerable individuals during the transition. It facilitates community integration and continuity of care by ensuring a person has enduring ties to their community and support systems during these critical periods. CTI has been applied to veterans, people with mental illness, people who have been homeless or in prison, and many other groups.

Boot Camp: The Video Tours

This training is primarily for those new to homeless services. It gives an overview of the Continuum of Care, how systems work, best practices in case management, frameworks we practice, and other helpful information. This in-person training will show each shelter’s virtual video tours.

SNAP & Medicaid

This training lasts 4 hours and covers both SNAP & Medicaid in two parts while providing a brief history of the Food Stamp Program, the application process, Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) and General Population, SNAP Employment & Training Program (SNAP EBT), participation requirements, services available, non-compliance, and Good Cause.

This training will also cover medical programs available to low-income citizens of Texas, as well as children’s programs, adult programs, and medical programs specifically for women’s health and insurance premiums.

Chronicity

This training is for shelter workers, outreach workers, and housing case managers and covers how to document homelessness to prove chronicity. We cover third-party letters, self-affidavits, verification of disability, and the Chronic List Cohort.

De-Escalation
