People experiencing homelessness face many barriers that make it difficult to actively engage in services, even when they want and need support. These barriers are internal, such as mental health, substance use, trauma, and challenges with connection and relationships, and external, such as lack of transportation, instability, and limited employment options. These challenges make considering creative and innovative strategies for reaching this population essential.

This training will explore reasons people experiencing homelessness may find engaging in services challenging and provide evidence-based and creative strategies to help clients feel safe to engage.
