This course, led by Dr. Scott Walters, Professor of Population and Community Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, focuses on the principles and techniques of Motivational Interviewing (MI). MI is a client-centered, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence.

This course equips homeless service providers with essential knowledge and skills to effectively support homeless veterans.
This comprehensive training is tailored for social service providers new to homeless services It offers an in-depth overview of our Continuum of Care (CoC) services, the frameworks we practice, and community resources. The training includes an extended walking tour of Lancaster shelters, providing true insight into client experiences. Be prepared for an active session, covering approximately 7,000 steps, to fully immerse yourself in the shelter environment.

The Ask Suicide-Screening Questions (ASQ) Toolkit by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is a valuable resource for service providers to identify individuals at risk for suicide. The ASQ training equips providers with the knowledge and tools needed to conduct suicide risk screenings, ultimately helping to save lives by connecting at-risk individuals with the necessary mental health resources.

The annual Point in Time Count is a nationwide event held annually to provide a snapshot of what homelessness looks like in one night for every community in the country.
Partnership Home needs around 500 volunteers to count and survey people living in unsheltered settings throughout Tarrant and Parker Counties. Your efforts will help us to understand what resources our community may need and identify community-wide strategies to end homelessness!
Everyone must count as part of a team. If you do not have a team, you will be assigned a team on the night of the count. If you would like to form your own team, you can do that as part of the registration process.
